Recipe for Fenugreek and Lemon relief infusion. Link to my new podcast Respiratory tract wellness!
How are you going with respiratory tract wellness? Theres still loads of smoke and tiny particles of post bush fire in the air here on Sunshine Coast.
Today I want to share with you my recipe for a healthy and congestion relieving infusion to help clear any congestion and avoid infections. This recipe doesn't just apply now! Its one you can use at home to relieve any sinus, hay fever, lymphatic congestion and excess mucous conditions.
Why is fenugreek good for you?
Traditionally its good to help balance cholesterol, soothe digestive issues, reduce cramping in the body, reduce appetite and weight loss aid, helps your liver and kidneys function well and reduces fever. We use it to relieve mucous congestion and to help flush the lymphatic system of toxins... and to help the easy flow of mucous out of the body.
To make this recipe.
1. Take two tablespoons of dry fenugreek seeds. ( you can get these at most health food shops) and place in large cup or glass jar.
2. Take 500ml of boiling water and pour over the seeds. Make sure you place a stell spoon in the glass jar to stop the heat cracking the glass.
3. Cover with a bees wax wrap or clothe and allow to soak overnight or for at least five hours.
4. Strain the liquid into another larger jug. Add another 500ml of boiling hot water. Then drink through the day. Heat it in a saucepan for a hot drink or drink it cold. keep in the fridge when not drinking and also add the juice of fresh lemon to each cup as you drink it.
5. add ons include... Fresh grated ginger, turmeric, fresh chilli, honey, sea salt. You can add these at any stage.
