Rose medicine for immunity and winter wellness

Hello and welcome to my blog today.

We love roses and today I wanted to highlight some of their awesomeness to you!

Also about this email. We are trying out a new format and appreciate your feedback. I'm sorry if you receive this twice? Please let me know as perhaps the newsletter I am writing now will come to you and then I plan to add it into an email and see if that comes to you! Thanks for your patience in advance. ( its a new trial)

The aroma of rose has been associated with peace, tranquility, happiness, love, affection, softness, joy and of course roses are connected to every important ritual and occasion that requires flowers all over the world.

The Otto rose is famous for its exotic beauty and supreme pricing as the most expensive rose oil in the world. The Rose hip has become such a powerful medicine for many people all over the world to boost immunity, strengthen the body, fight colds and flus, offer nutrients and also to soften the heart and heal the emotions.

This stunning picture of " Les Roses Paris" was drawn in 1824 by Redoute a famous botanical artist.

Roses are used in all kinds of ways with foods and medicines.

Rosehip tea is super delicious and healthy

You can simply make a rose petal tea from the garden by pouring hot water across the fresh petals. The aroma is instant and once infused rose petal tea tastes amazing. The health benefits of rosehip tea are rich in antioxidants, aids weight loss, reduces inflammation and pain and helps keep your immunity strong.

Essential oils

You can make oils from the petals and the rose hips. They are both high is nourishing oils for the skin and are very aromatherapeutic.  The essential oil is used to reduce anxiety and stress, ease pain and inflammation, and it has antimicrobial actions when applied topically to skin.

Herbal extractions

Rose hips are used to make the herbal extraction and we use this in our Dispensary to add to your herbal formulas The benefits of adding rosehips to the blend are great when you suffer from arthritis, inflammatory pain, any digestive tract disturbances such as constipation or diarrhea, ulceration. And we use rose hip extract for any urinary tract problems and infections. We also add it to blends where you may need some emotional support and strengthening of immunity. It seams to be quite antimicrobial for digestive ailments.

Cooking with roses.

I only really cook with roses on special occasions when we have an abundance of fresh petals, or when we add a drop of the essential oil onto your desert just before serving for the amazing aroma. When I do cook with roses its always a sauce and its mostly chocolate. I don't want to offend my vegetarian friends here, but an old french recipe is roasted duck with a dark chocolate and rose petal sauce that I just love making! Of course it involves the rose hydrosol water and that is used in the sauce and then we sprinkle some finely chopped rose petals as a garnish. It is delicious!

My Grandma used to make rose cakes and she also used fresh and dried roses with marzipan which is a sweet almond paste used in French cooking as decorations on sweet foods and made into little treats!
