Hello and how are you today? Don't we all love a good sauce and flavoursome dips... Easy recipes that really are healthy and delicious.
Our Long Table Wellness Day was all about medicinal sauces and dips. This was one workshop where I felt we were making so much and eating all day. It was really successful with recipes that now I want to add some more recipes for dips and sauces into our December 1st Long Table wellness day where we are making herbal festive season gifts!
What we want with a good sauce or dip, you really want to start out with the freshest, cleanest ingredients and that includes pure oils, fresh herbs, quality sea salts, rich and pure spices, fresh lemons, vinegars, honey, maple syrup, creams, yoghurts, cheeses, nuts, seeds, super food additives and flavourings that are natural, unusual and complementary.
If you follow us on instagram you will have seen our story where I added small videos during the day which are full of recipes. I love recipes and here is one from the day that is super simple and delicious.
Easy medicinal creamy mushroom sauce.
Mushrooms are so medicinal and such a great addition to your diet. The research into mushrooms is growing all the time and with this recipe you can add a variety of mushrooms depending on your tastes and needs! With stronger medicinal mushrooms ( eg shitake) you may only need to add a small amount to the traditional button and field mushrooms.
This is one of the easiest sauces to make for pasta, vegetables and you can add it to any meal where you want a mushroom flavoured creamy , nourishing addition. This edition of french cream sauce is a basic farm version that is flourless and really simple. It uses minimal ingredients and takes about fifteen minutes to make.
We had ours with fresh nochi and stirred the sauce through the cooked nochi.
what you need
500 grams mushrooms cleaned and sliced.
300ml fresh cream
1 teaspoon msg free massel vegetable stock powder
1 clove garlic peeled and diced
2 tablespoons olive oil
How to make sauce.
1. heat your steel frying pan with olive oil and add in sliced mushrooms.
2. Allow to fry until mushrooms are almost cooked.
3. Add cream, stock powder and garlic.
4. allow to simmer and reduce for five minutes stirring until the sauce has reduced and is thicker.
5. stir through cooked vegetables, nochi or pasta.
Easy peasy. Enjoy!
