How to recover your energy and get fully recharged for the new year!

Happy new year and seasons greetings for an awesome energised 2019!

The Woodford folk Festival was a busy clinic for us all and our crew were epic! We opened from 7am till 10pm daily and offered our free community clinic, herbal first aid service and also herbal medicine consultations and formulating. We saw lots of feet injuries from dancing, blisters, twisted ankles and mosh pit injuries as usual. we also helped with daily wellness of festival patrons.

The exciting aspect to this clinic is that we went back to basics. Back to old school medicineroom glass for all dispensing of medicines. We are rolling this out across our free community clinics at Eumundi Markets and other events too. So, when you see us face to face you now will get an awesome glass bottle of medicine and you can refill it with us when you visit again! You may remember we did this for years. and then about 5 years ago we moved across to pet plastic. We are still sending out pet plastic for postal herbal medicines in 500ml and 1 litre bottles due to risk of breakage in transit.

How to get fully charged after the festive season.

Make sure you get plenty of rest, stay hydrated and get some down time! The year has started with a burst of activity and we need to make time to recover our nervous system, repair our adrenal glands and get some good cellular energy repair and recovery under way.

Herbs for recovery at this time of the year are : all adrenal and nervous system herbals.... think rehmannia, adaptogenics like ashwanganda ( withania) , bacopa, gotu kola, Siberian ginseng, panax ginseng, shatavari, echinacea, astragalus, and herbs that really support the whole body. Chat with us and we can make you a personalised blend to help recover your body. Don't live with the stress and the residues of an exhausted festive season. Take herbs, eat good foods and recover fast!

Eat fresh green foods this is a great time of the year for raw salads, juices, smoothies and cool foods that will nourish your body. If you eat Salmon then please have this two or tree times a week for the essential fatty acids that are necessary for good cellular recovery. Eat Chia seeds and flax seed oils for vegetable options. Have protein powder in drinks or eat some protein daily.

Keep your diet light and super nourishing. If you are wanting to increase your exercise then take advantage of the ocean, rivers and water sports. Its a really healthy way to stay fit, cool and also give your body much needed exercise. If you are sweating too much in the heat then you are depleting your energy. Try to keep a balance on exercise and rest.

We tend to need more rest after festive season activities, so, slow down your social schedules, up your exercises and yogas and eat the best you can!
