Heres a fun fact.... On Chinese new year the nut of Ginkgo biloba is eaten as good luck and support for cognitive function and longevity for the new year! Happy Chinese new year everyone.
How to make Ginkgo biloba oil
Simply fill your jar with Ginkgo biloba leaves and top up with quality local extra virgin olive oil... Leave to marinate for up to six weeks and use in cooking, salad dressings or on your body externally as a good nourishing oil. Ginkgo has been shown to decrease wrinkles and age spots on the skin. Thats why its been traditionally used as a skin oil for many years!
Did you know that Ginkgo trees are alive today that are 4000 years old? These tress are strong and have longevity. Imagine the cellular intrinsic and energetic energy that comes from medicines made from a tree that old? It would be magical.
This herb is also know as maiden hair tree. Its been used in Medicines all over the world and is such a traditional old medicine. We use the leaf in our herbal dispensary and make aqua ethanol extractions which is where all the evidence base is around this plant.
Research and clinical trials have shown it works with cognitive function, improving memory, helping with cognitive repair and regeneration. This is in conditions such as alkziemers and ADHD ( attention deficit hyperactive disorder) in children.
Some interesting research shows that Ginkgo helps keep the cognitive pathways clear of plaque thereby halting mental deterioration and also ringing in the ears ( Tinnitus) . We have used it for meniers disease as well in our dispensary. More research shows it to be used for multiple sclerosis and helping repair nerve tissue.
This is exciting. I love the fact that research is showing now as evidence the benefits that Ginkgo has already been used for thousands of years locally and by everyone.
Ginkgo Helps increase peripheral circulation. Thats increasing oxygenation in the body and really helps you have more energy and feel better. If you have erectile dysfunction, diabetes type two , or weak circulation anywhere in the body then have GInkgo biloba as part of your daily herbal tonic!
We use Ginkgo to help repair poor memory. When you need to study and when you want to retain information. Ginkgo tea, ginkgo extraction and we love Ginkgo mixed with brahmis and ginseng. Whenever you increase the circulation then you are also improving vision and helping your mind get stronger and better as you age.. its also one of the best anti depressants and feel good herbs to take especially when you are frustrated and anxious about poor cognitive abilities....
Thats awesome news. We love Ginkgo which contains the terpenes, phenols and flavonoid constituents that help it do all this awesome work.
To Dry GInkgo simply layers the fresh leaves in eco brown paper and allow to aerate. Use the paper like racks and have a fan blowing cool dry air on the layers until they are all dry ( it will take over a week) You can also sun dry the leaves, or have them in a dark dry cupboard. use the leaves when they are dry for teas, in stir fries. This way you can have ginkgo leaves all year around for your food as medicine!
Eat fresh Ginkgo leaves in salads, mix them in juices and smoothies and add ginkgo to your day.... everyday...
